How to Make Cold Brew with Coffee Bags

Love a refreshing cold brew? Meet your ultimate summer shortcut... Our coffee bags.

Cold brew is, ironically, the season's hottest drink. Discover why everyone's talking about it - and how easy it is to make with our bold, flavour-packed speciality coffee bags.

What is Cold Brew?

Unlike iced coffee, cold brew is made by steeping ground coffee (we use our iconic coffee bags!) in cold water for 12 to 24 hours. By steeping for a longer time, and often overnight, the coffee draws out flavour slowly for a ultra-smooth coffee without the bitterness.

Steep, store in the fridge, then serve! We recommend to drink it black for the full cold brew experience. Prefer it creamy? A splash of oat milk won't hurt.

Why Drink Cold Brew Coffee?

Over those weak, overly sweet iced lattes from your local cafe? Homemade cold brew coffee could be your solution. It's bold, smooth, and often stronger - it's perfect for anyone who's caffeine obsessed.

Plus, it's super easy and convenient to make what could be better?

Why Use Coffee Bags with Cold Brew?

At Purple, we're all about making cold brew with coffee bags, and here are the top reasons why:

1. It's Convenient

No mess, no drama. There's no need to measure out beans, or worry about quantities and waste any beans. Just drop in a bag, steep, and remove.

2. It's Cleaner

As the grounds are kept inside our coffee bag casing, there'll be no ground sediment aka those annoying floating bits in your brew.

3. It's Consistent

Thanks to our perfectly portioned bags, you'll get the same bold flavours every time.

4. It's Portable

All you need a coffee bag and a jar - and access to water - meaning you can brew just about anywhere. From festivals to your office kitchen, the perfect cold brew is ready and waiting.

How to Make Cold Brew with Coffee Bags

Smooth, chilled, and insanely easy: Discover our easy how-to guide to the perfect cold brew.

Step 1: Hello, H20

Add cold or room temperature water to a generously sized glass jar or pitcher.

Step 2: Bag Meets Water

Open one of our easy-tear coffee bags and pop it into the water. Cover your jar or pitcher and leave in the fridge. Steep it and forget about it, and store overnight. Or keep it in for up to 24 hours for a stronger brew.

Step 3: Ice it Up

Take it out of the fridge, and get your ice ready - the bigger, the better. Finish off with a splash of milk (if you fancy), but hold on the sweetener, as our coffee bags are flavourful enough on their own.
